Send a letter online, including abroad: process and cost
How it works
- Upload the document. If the address is in the letter, we read it automatically.
- Check the recipient's and sender's address. The sender appears on the envelope, and undeliverable letters are returned there.
- Choose printing: black and white or color, single-sided or double-sided.
- Send. In your account you see when the letter was printed and handed over.
Where letters go
Letters go to addresses in over 230 countries and territories. Excluded are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia and Belarus. The letters are printed in Germany and carried by Deutsche Post. Abroad, the postal service of the destination country delivers them.
Registered mail is currently only available to addresses within Germany. Letters to other countries go as standard letters without a tracking number.
Address and window
The envelope has a window. For the address to show in it, it must be in the right place on the first page: under the German standard DIN 5008, about 2 cm from the left edge and 4.5 cm from the top edge. It is easier with the address sheet: we add an extra first sheet with the address placed exactly in the window. Then the layout of your document does not matter.
For letters abroad, the destination country goes in the last line of the address. We add it automatically when you select the country.

FAQ
Can I sign the letter?
A signature that is already in the document is printed along with it. It does not replace a handwritten signature on paper.
Is there tracking?
For registered mail within Germany, yes, with the Deutsche Post tracking number. Standard letters have no tracking number. For every letter, you see printing and handover in your account.
Can I send a letter and a fax at the same time?
Yes. Choose fax and letter, and the same document goes out both ways. See Fax and letter in parallel.
